Eden Reforestation Projects has been working with local leaders and communities to restore mangrove forests in Indonesia since 2017. Indonesia is extremely biodiverse, but has lost 80% of its original forest, 40% of its mangrove forests, and a further 2.5 million hectares every year. Eden Projects now has 14 project sites across remote islands and mainland West Papua offering reforestation and agroforestry programs. They have planted over 33 million trees and employ over 350 people.
