Eden Reforestation Projects has 93 sites in Madagascar; replanting tropical dry deciduous forest in Ankarafantsika National Park, restoring inland dry deciduous land recovering from slash and burn practices, and planting over 2 million mangroves a month along the northwest coast of the island. Madagascar is one of the world’s top preservation priorities, with only 10% of forests remaining and 75% of local species unique to the island. To date, Eden Reforestation Projects and their teams have planted over 776 million trees, employing over 11,700 local people. They’ve built key infrastructure such as guardhouses, fire towers, and seed banks, as well as a training centre for local nursery managers.
